"A mood board is a collage of images, text and colors to capture the feel and direction of a brand identity. Mood boards are essential when brainstorming a brand identity.
If you’re in the process of working out a brand identity, a mood board will help bring things like company attributes, vision, identity and the emotions you want your brand to convey together.
As you move along in the world of design you will develop your own personal brand.

You can either create a digital* version or a physical one."
For this task I need to create a mood board for my personal brand. I recently updated the design on my website, so I decided to create a mood board with what inspired me to go with my new ideas. I will also use the opportunity to write down my recent webpage changes.
A few weeks ago I watched a video on Youtube showing the best graphic designers websites, and I got inspired to try an create my version of these sites. Of course my current skills are no where near close to what these people had, but I needed to start with something :)
For my new website design I chose to go with dark grey as background, white for the type and light red for the buttons and minimize the content and distractions as much as possible. The reasoning behind this is that I want my photo gallery to be the center of the website and to stand out and I feel like grey background works perfect for that. I wanted to make it as simple as I can following the minimalism style. I removed all of the unnecessary buttons and decorations and made the front page to contain all of the sections. I made the buttons leading for my blog and galleries hidden, but when hovered over they show a picture showing the theme of the button. For now I have decided to keep the grey and white palette, but I might change it in the future. (I did change it after. I added the coral color as accent, just to make it more interesting.) I also added some slight animations to some of the elements for more active look. I used the "Oswald Medium" font for the whole site, except when the blog posts are open to be read.
My mood board shows the feel I try to recreate for my page and brand. Simple, clean and easy to understand. The grey on the back helps the color on my photos to pop up and be the center of attention, just like some of the photos represented there.
I have also been trying to come up with a logo concept for my brand and I did get an idea that fits well with the rest of the design. The name of my webpage "Deilie" is formed from De(sislava) + Ilie(va), so the logo had to fit with that too. It consists of the letters "D" and "I" that are my initials.
I know we are about to have a task for personal logo, so I might come up with a new concept, but so far I'm happy with this one. It'll also do a more detailed breakdown of that logo when we get the task for it. :)
