1. Having watched the video with Nigel French – describe, in your own words, what each of these color systems means: RGB and CMYK.
RGB
R-red
G-green
B-blue
RGB is an additive color system, used mainly in digital media. This color system contains a lot more colors than CMYK, making it easier to work with on screens. Red, green and blue are the primary colors and by mixing them we can create all other colors and with all of their tints and shades. The RGB colors are created with light and the more we mix them the lighter they get, ending with pure white. Mixing two RGB colors will give primary color in CMYK.
CMYK
C-cyan
M-magenta
Y-yellow
K-blacK (instead of using B we use K, so it's not mixed with the Blue in the RGB color system)
CMYK is a subtractive color system and it's used mostly for printing and reproduction. Because ink behaves
differently, it may not look identical to physical colors and if not used the design might look completely different from what we have created originally. It starts with light colors and the more we mix them - the darker results we get, ending with black. Mixing two CMYK colors will give primary color in RGB.
2. Make use of Adobe Color and develop four different color schemes. Please hand in screenshots of your schemes:
Monochromatic
Complementary
Triadic
Analogous
Monochromatic
Monochromatic is a color theme that consists of one color and its different tints (made by adding white) and shades (made by adding black).
Complementary
Complementary theme consists of two colors that are opposite of each other.
Triadic
Traidic theme is when three colors are equally positioned on the color wheel, making a triad.
Analogous
Analogous theme consists of colors located next to each other on the color wheel.
All illustrations and screenshots are made by me using "Adobe Photoshop" and "Snip and Sketch". :)
